The Trail of Fears is a cognitive behavioral therapy game that helps children identify self-talk, stop intrusive thoughts, and focus on calming thoughts. This game is ideal for children who struggle with fears, phobias, and general anxiety. While this game is packed with foundational, powerful cognitive behavioral therapy skills, it is also fun and engaging. Children play the game without realizing how much they are learning and how they're changing their thought patterns.

The game contains 3 sets of cards:

  • Calming the Creepies: This set of cards introduces many coping skills that can help turn off the fight, flight, or freeze response and bring emotional relief.

  • Peaceful Potions: This card set focuses on identifying and rescripting thoughts. They help children with visualization and thought-stopping and replacement techniques.

  • Make-Belief Madness: This set helps children understand why they have self-talk, how to be aware of what they are thinking, and how to notice symptoms of anxiety such as body signals and nightmares. It also helps children understand the difference between fact and fiction.
