Games are fantastic tools to help incorporate skills and learning in a play format. Children process their emotions and communicate best through play. Games are a helpful way to incorporate cognitive behavioral concepts in small, little pieces. Children will often feel more at ease playing a game than engaging in eye to eye contact conversation. The games reduce stress and anxiety when discussing difficult concepts, they allow the counselor to teach coping skills in a fun way.
These counseling games have been created by a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist who uses these games in the field on a daily basis. These games were birthed from a need interventions for clients when other products were not found. There is a great need for affordable resources that are effective in treatment.
