Hearing Things Game Review

Is the game Hearing Things a good game for play therapy? Let's discuss it! Hearing Things is a game that comes with headphones and a deck of cards. One person will wear the headphones while the other person reads from the cards. Each card has two phrases or sentences. The person wearing the headphones must guess what the other person is saying.
In theory, this sounds like it would be very useful, as it would teach kids to pay close attention to facial expressions, mouth movements, and communication skills. However, the headphones are absolutely terrible! The noises may spark insanity. I think I was on the verge! They were so loud and obnoxious that I couldn't think straight.
Here's the verdict: If you aim to create stress and confusion, this might be the game for you. However, if you're like me and can't handle the insane noise, skip this one. Watch the video to hear the insanity for yourself.
Update: Upon introspection and discussion with play therapy colleagues, this one might be a good one for CBT. Sometimes the voices in our heads are so loud and overwhelming that it can make us feel a little crazy! It certainly paints a mental picture.
Also, a helpful tip from a friend: You can pretend to push the button, but put it on without making a noise when it's your turn. I'm not sure I'd be savvy enough to get away with it, but it's worth a try!
