Robot Face Race appears to be a fun and engaging game. The packaging and imagery are appealing and draw you in. The concept seemed like it would work well for play therapy, helping children identify different faces. I thought the kids would enjoy looking at the various faces and expressions. However, this one quickly turned sour for most of my kids.
Age Appropriateness
The box indicates that it is best for ages 4 and up. Several of my pre-K kids got the game out and tried to play, but they were unable to find the indicated robots on the board. Remembering four different facial features among many choices on a board can be overwhelming for little ones. Some of my 6-year-olds tried it, and they struggled as well.
Disinterest Among Older Kids
The older kids who played it lost interest in less than two minutes. All in all, it was a big flop. Save your money on this one!
Conclusion
In conclusion, while Robot Face Race might not be the best choice for your play therapy sessions, there are plenty of other games that can be both fun and beneficial for children. Remember, the key is to find games that resonate with the kids and keep them engaged. If you have any questions or want to share your experiences, feel free to reach out!
